Mains dans la main

A collective work on weaving loom, thanks to the help of women from the Cercle des Fermières de l’Anse-Saint-Jean, that is exhibited at La Petite École Community Center.

It consisted in integrating photographies, printed on fabrics of many types, in weaving works. Bands of various widths cut out those photos came parts of the woof.

The object of the photography, the hands of the women of the Cercle at work in weaving, knitting or embroidering, are then fit into the undertaking, thus creating in the process a situation where, from an anonymous subject of a hand at work, the ultimate weaver regain her’s or finds out the subject identify through the work of a own hands.

Therefore, in this unusual and much less traditional form of weaving, the artisan becomes her own subject of creation.
